for the matriarch

thanks to a hefty storm im blessed with a day off after 2 45+ hour weeks of landscaping, which i realize is not the end of the world, but im a wuss so back off. i like days off so i can study and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning instead of waking up early only to realize the 10 minutes i spent tyring to read have made me tardy, i might could go to bed earlier, but thats just silly talk.

i had a great weekend. spending time with friends, enjoying the sunshine, even playing with a french bulldog puppy named penelope. but i spoke to my grandma this weekend (hence the title), and she said some encouraging things, one was that she like this blog and checks it all the time, prompting me to write more. and second as that my cousin DOMINATED everyones face off recently. i have a cousin named beau, he is 12 years old and is like a little bro i wish i could see more. well, his dad loves cars and has been building and drag racing cars for a long time, so naturally beau has a love for similar things. last year he started racing, to get the feel for it and see how he liked it; its like a mini drag racer, but still goes real fast. well apparently he recently dominated his first event last weekend. there is a little blurb here (http://jrdragster.nhra.com/apcm/templates/buzz.asp?articleid=36462&zoneid=13). congrats beau, i love ya buddy.

ok enough about my superior family. i have a favor to ask all who read this blog. all 3 of you.

please pray for the students as well as leaders going on this trip, we leave saturday. as i mentioned before i will be teaching and actually helping to lead worship(pray for a miraculous sense of tone and pitch). i am currently reading and writing outlines for what i want to teach on and took a break to pray for the kids, and if you get a chance, please pray for them too.

Leaders: Dave, Britt, Nancy, Jessica, John, Greg, and Myself.
Students: Andrew, Carl, Forrest, Alissa, Braden, Alexa, Bo, Colleen, Mike, Iain, Tony, Katie, Ross, Jason, Maggie, Liz, James, Sean, Mark.

2 postings ago i talked about feeling the weight of the church and the mission god calls us all to. i feel that now. i leave in 5 days knowing what i want these students to learn and see, but you know whats great? is when gods glory proves us wrong. you know what i mean? not just with plans or expectations but with the overall knowledge and love that we experience? maybe its cause i can be cynical or pessimistic but really, has gods glory ever proved you wrong? so im hoping that happens with this trip.

im going to go back to studying but i thought i would leave you all with this...
