the plan.

Its funny to me sometimes how transparent God is in the old testament. people at the time may have been confused by some of the language and prophecies given. However, we have the luxury thousands of years later to see what they all mean and how they tie together, especially with Jesus.

we saw yesterday the promise God made to David, and today we see a little more of the plan...

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." - Isaiah 7.14

Do you know what Immanuel means? "God with us." There will be a virgin who gives birth and his name will be God with us. If you know the Christmas story, the story of the birth of Jesus, basically God knows what will happen roughly 700 years before it does. He has a plan. The prophet Isaiah tells the people of Israel this plan 700 years before it happens.

Many of us are familiar with Jesus and that he was rejected by the people he came to earth to love. they claimed he was many things, but God had told them he was coming, to be ready, yet they weren't...

this time leading up to easter is a time to get ready. To spend time thinking about Jesus and who he was so that when easter does come we can have a greater understanding of what it means and what Jesus came to do. Because its not every day a miraculous virgin birth happens with the child being the son of God. actually, come to think of it, its only happened once.

so we honor his life and sacrifice by thinking and learning about Him. seeking him more every day. pray that the Lord gives you the persistence to seek him out this day. to begin the preparation.
