After mary and joseph freak out about losing the son of god, they find him in the temple. Jesus response is very famous to us church people; "did you not know that i must be in my fathers house?" then he goes with them and "increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with god and man."
For those who were in sunday school i mentioned this, but will say it again. we all want to be liked dont we? no one wants to be known as a liar, cheater, jerk, selfish, etc... yeah sometimes we dont care as much, but in general this seems to be true. See, this passage doesnt mean if you know the bible you will be liked, in fact, the pharisees knew it all by heart, and Jesus calls them liars. so... what then?
I think its the state of your heart. is your heart focused inward? or outward? See, Jesus was learning to share with others and love others more. the pharisees were learning to improve themselves over others and lift themselves up.
you might say DUH! or No DOY! to this idea. well...
i dont care, i need to remind myself of this. haha. I love thinking about the boy-Jesus in the temple just asking away, asking questions of all the big dog bible teachers... at age 12. seeking all he could, at age 12. so, if you arent 12 yet, maybe you have an excuse. but everyone else: do you seek after the things of God this way? (ill go ahead and assume you dont, because i sure dont)
im telling you. its the heart. WANT MORE JESUS. WANT MORE TRUTH. WANT MORE GOD.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
