john 2.18-22
they ask him basically, "whats your deal man?" who do you think you are, why are you so great? keep in mind this is the first major public interaction with the religious leaders, which is probably why they consistently want to kill him. Jesus hurt their reputation as well as their pocketbooks.
Jesus answers them, destroy this temple, and i will raise it up in 3 days. now we know he was talking about himself, but the people were confused. so i want to say this. Jesus became the temple when he died. See, the temple was the dwelling place of God and a way for people to come and ask forgiveness, well, Jesus was the new temple. a way for people to come to know God.
"i am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me."
so you see, what he said makes sense. what he did was right. but the people were confused. they thought about him logically, as a rabbi, a prophet at best, NOT the messiah.
when we see Jesus as who he REALLY is, the savior of the world, sometimes the things we do for him, or through him dont make sense to the world. and thats ok. they would find out soon enough.
and so will the people of this earth, they will one day see.
live life for the messiah.
