modern day woman at the well.

i once heard my mom describe herself as a modern day woman at the well who encountered jesus after some poor choices. though it was half joking, it was half serious too.

read john 4. 1-45.

isnt that an awesome story. Now we can talk about the theology behind samaritans and living water and all that jazz. but if you have a decent study bible it will tell you the basics. (i reccomend ESV study bible).

What i want to look at is the attitude of Jesus when dealing with this woman. we are all similar to this famous Samaritan woman with no name mentioned. We come to jesus and he offers us salvation, and we say, but look at this list of dirty laundry in my life, how can i find salvation?

true worship.

wait, you mean i can have this gift despite my past? you bet. but i have worshiped at other places and made idols. So? worship me. now. with truth. with a repentant heart.

and what i love even more, is that more people believed in jesus because of her testimony.

when we repent, we find salvation, and then, we share the good news with others and they repent. and so on, and so on, etc etc.

So why isnt this happening. why arent you sharing the miraculous things God has done for you?

and if you are, great. Dont stop. doesnt matter if they go to different churches, mormon, catholic, atheist, agnostic. doesnt matter. god wants true worship, no matter where you have been.

why do we worship? look at verse 26.

"i who speak to you am he(the CHRIST; the savior of the world.)"
